“He's our MVP!” Mike Elko praises the growth of Texas A&M RB Le'Veon Moss

When the No. 14 Texas A&M Aggies brought back former defensive coordinator Mike Elko to take the helm in College Station, the team was definitely expected to grow compared to its performance with Jimbo Fisher at the helm.

But I don't know if the 12th man expected such growth.

The Aggies are now on a five-game winning streak, are 3-0 in games against SEC opponents and are fresh off their first bye week. The Aggie defense is back to where it was last year, and the “Wrecking Crew” has been exactly that lately.

But who can coaches point the finger at offensively to help the Maroon and White's growth?

According to Coach Elko, look no further than junior running back Le'Veon Moss, who is currently third in the SEC with 609 rushing yards. Moss has averaged over 100 yards per game this season, including a career-high 138 yards rushing against Missouri, where he also had a hat trick of rushing touchdowns.

“On offense he is our MVP,” coach Elko continued The Aggie Football Hour Wednesday evening. “He still does more than anyone else, but I still think he's improved over the summer, in the first game, compared to what he was when this whole thing started, and he's still improving on that used to how we want to run, to the point where he is now, he's definitely one of the most dominant defenders in the country.

And with Moss named to the Maxwell Award watch list for the best college football player in the country, Mike Elko clearly isn't the only one who believes Moss is a top player in the college football world.
