High winds cause schools to close in this San Diego County district

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) – The San Diego County Office of Education said the Mountain Empire School District will be closed Wednesday, November 6, due to inclement weather.

Officials say high winds could make getting to and from school a challenge, especially for high-profile vehicles like school buses. This led them to decide to cancel classes for the day.

The following schools will not be in session on Wednesday:

— Campo Elementary School

— Clover Flat Elementary School

— Descanso Elementary School

— Early childhood education

— Alternative Education in the Mountain Empire

— Mountain Empire High School

— Mountain Empire Junior High School

— Mountain Empire Junior High School

– Mountain Empire Unified School District

— Potrero Elementary School

“The safety of students and school staff is of paramount importance to San Diego County school districts,” the Board of Education said.
