Hope for goals for Linz on Sunday

After the disappointing three days before, I'm focusing on the Nations League for Sunday's football bet of the day and have highlighted a game that excites me because of the goals.

⚽️ Austria 🇦🇹 vs Norway 🇳🇴

🇪🇺 Nations League

⏰ Sunday, October 13th, 7:45 p.m

Norway, leaders of Nations League B Group 3, travel to Linz tomorrow evening to face second-placed Austria in a game that excites me because of its goals.

After being eliminated in the round of 16 of Euro 2024 in Turkey in the summer, Ralf Rangnick's hosts experienced a difficult start to the Nations League, picking up a single point in their first two away games in Slovenia and Norway.

However, the team got its first win of the season on Thursday night when it defeated bottom-placed Kazakhstan 4-0 in front of their fans to move up to second place, three points behind their upcoming opponents.

After the disappointment of not being able to end their 24-year banishment from a major tournament in the summer, Norway have made an impressive start to the Nations League as they sit top of their group after three games.

The Stale Solbakken visitors began their season with a goalless draw in Kazakhstan, but back-to-back home wins over Austria and Slovenia give them a three-point lead over those two nations at the top of Group 3 of League B.

Bet of the day

Austria's first three Nations League games this season were full of goals. A total of 11 goals were scored in the three games, with over 2.5 goals scored in each of the last two.

In fact, there has been a payout of over 2.5 goals in five of the last seven and seven of the last 11 competitive games – and considering that this has also been the case in eight of Norway's previous 11 meetings – I'm glad it's a minimum are from three goals in this game, a selection that also landed in the second leg just last month.

  • Over 2.5 Asian goal line
  • Pays 17/20 (Bet365)
