After a tough loss to an old rival, the Michigan State Spartans face a tough task Saturday afternoon when they welcome the undefeated Indiana Hoosiers to Spartan Stadium.

What you should know

The Spartans suffer another disappointing loss, this time against rival Michigan. MSU made too many mistakes on both ends in a 24-17 loss to the Wolverines last Saturday night in Ann Arbor, marking its third straight loss to UM.

With losses in four of the last five meetings, including three in Big Ten play, Michigan State is now simply playing to qualify for a bowl game.

On the other hand, the Hoosiers are having one of the best seasons in program history. After a convincing 31-17 win over Washington last week, Indiana is 8-0 for the first time since 1967. Even though they haven't faced a strong opponent yet, their offense has been exceptional and their defense has been strong. IU has never won 10 games in a single season.

MSU is 50-18-2 against Indiana and has won five of the last seven meetings, including 24-21 in Bloomington in 2023.
