BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – 0.00″. This is the latest rainfall measurement for Easterwood Airport for the entire month of October.

Zero. Nothing. Nada. Goose egg. We were protected from rain all month and then some. Halloween was our hope to rid ourselves of this terrible #1 spot, but to no avail.

To illustrate, this has only happened THREE times in our recorded history (since 1882), and this is the first time since 1952 that we have recorded no precipitation for the month of October, our wettest month climatologically.

This was also the WARMEST October on record.

We experienced 23 days of temperatures of 90 or above and only TWO days of below average high temperatures.

We set/tied 9 daily temperature records.

The overall average temperature for October was 78.1 °C, surpassing the previously recorded hottest October in 2004, which had an average temperature of 77 °C.

The good news: At least there seems to be at least some relaxation in both temperatures and precipitation in the first few days of November. While this won't get us out of the drought, it should be a step in the right direction.
