Invincible season 3 release date has been leaked, and it's surprisingly soon

A new rough-cut trailer for Invincible season 3 was leaked online yesterday, and while the video has been removed, essentially confirming its legitimacy, the information revealed cannot go unheard. The third season of “Invincible” has a release date.

What's surprising is how close it is. Accordingly, the release date of the third season of Invincible is February 6, 2025, in just four and a half months.

What's so crazy about that? Let's remember the gap between seasons 1 and 2:

• Airing of the first season – March 2021
• Season 2, Part 1, aired – November 2023
• Season 2, Part 2, aired – March 2024

In other words, the original gap between Seasons 1 and 2 (well, half of Season 2) was two and a half years, and now the gap between Seasons 2 and 3 will be less than a year, eleven months as it stands. This is wild, even after Robert Kirkman promised the long wait wouldn't happen again. I didn't think they would actually reach this level.

The other important news here is that the leaked trailer also states that there will be no mid-season break. Like they literally printed that on the title card. It's well known how much fans hated the show's four-episode segments, which aired five months apart, and they won't do it again. This is also something Kirkman has addressed in interviews.

It seemed like the reason for this was originally due to production, as they wanted to get at least part of a season out before the 3 year mark was reached, even if the rest wasn't finished yet, but I guess hindsight was They realized it wasn't worth it. Well, that won't happen again and something must have clicked to get production into full swing. The voice recordings for this season were finished a long time ago, but the animations often take a long time. So that's very impressive to see.

Every time we get a new season of Invincible, comic book readers say it's going to be the “craziest one ever,” but this time that might actually be true given where things are going. Luckily for all of us, we'll get there sooner than we thought and hopefully this will be the new rhythm for the series going forward. I wouldn't count on that considering the average wait time for streaming shows is now 18 months to 2 years, but that 11 month gap will certainly be a welcome change if they stick to that date.
