Laptops are expensive. Of course, you can treat yourself to a MacBook or a premium device with our best Black Friday laptop deals, but there are also some very affordable early bird discounts that I think are an even better option.

My favorite laptop deal so far is the 14-inch Lenovo IdeaPad Pro 5i, priced at AU$1,348. I prefer the more portable size, but there's also a fantastic deal on the larger 16-inch Pro 5 (with AMD CPU) for just AU$1,299.

So what does AU$1,348 get you in this case? I'm a photographer and need to edit photos, so the high-resolution 14-inch 2.8K (2880 x 1800) IPS display with 400 nit brightness and 100% sRGB color reproduction is important to me. The laptop also features a powerful yet efficient Intel Core Ultra 5 125H CPU, supported by 32GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD, which can be increased up to 1TB for just AU$69 extra.

Don't trust me – our colleagues at Tom's Hardware were just as impressed in their review of the Lenovo IdeaPad Pro 5i. No wonder given the powerful features and premium features such as a powerful 84 Wh battery, fast Wi-Fi 6E and a webcam with facial recognition. Not bad for 35% off and the lowest price I've seen for this laptop.

Anker 321 MagGo power bank on a purple background with white TechRadar logo and lowest price text

Looking for a way to stay charged on the go? Anker makes some of my favorite power banks (not to mention other accessories) that can charge everything from earbuds to a phone to powerful laptops. One of the best is the powerful one Anchor 737but it's a bit bigger and heavier and means I have to carry cables too.

At least for my phone I can make it easier with the Anker 321 MagGo power bank. It attaches magnetically to the back of your iPhone (12 or newer) via MagSafe and charges wirelessly. It's compact enough to allow you to continue using your phone while charging, and no cables are required. With a 5,000mAh capacity, you can charge most iPhones from 20% to full charge, perfect for topping up on a long day. Plus, it's small enough to fit in a pocket, purse, or pocket without noticing it's there.

MagSafe-compatible chargers can often be expensive, but the Anker 321 MagGo power bank is currently reduced to AU$36.11 in black or white – the lowest price we've ever seen. You can also save an additional 10% using the code 0USZAX9 This brings the total down to AU$32.50 and a whopping 49% off the RRP.

The Dyson V15 Detect on a pink background with the text “Price Cut” next to it.

I've tested many vacuum cleaners for TechRadar over the years, including the Dyson V15 Detect, and even three years after its release in the Australian market, I still think it's Dyson's best cordless vacuum cleaner. However, it's expensive – like most Dyson products – and if you can buy it at a discounted price, it represents great value for money.

The reason I love the V15 Detect is that its motor still works well on hard floors and carpets, and you get decent runtime even with the motorized cleaning heads attached. The Absolute model also features the Fluffy Optic cleaning head, which uses a bit of green light to illuminate microscopic dust particles on hard floors, which you can then remove for a more thorough job. The Digital Motorbar is perfect for carpets and is designed to be tangle-free. If you are still afraid of long hair or fur, you can also get the hair screw tool. There are also two additional appendices.

The V15 Detect Absolute was priced at AU$996 at the start of Prime Big Deal Days in October, making this particular AU$849.98 deal on Amazon even better. That's a really generous 41% off, meaning you could see it get even cheaper – the operative word is 'could', as there's no guarantee the discounts will be any better in the actual Black Friday sale. If this price seems good to you, I would recommend taking advantage of the savings before you miss out (pun fully intended).

Bose QuietComfort wireless Bluetooth headphones in white on a blue background with “TechRadar Don’t Miss” sign on the right side

Do you need new headphones? I personally love Bose – in fact, I use the Bose QuietComfort Ultra earbuds (the in-ears) as my everyday set, but also own the black colorway of the over-ear version of the Ultras, which I use on video calls and on long-haul flights.

In our Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones review, we called them “simply the best,” as Tina so aptly put it. Although our reviewer wasn't particularly impressed with the battery life (24 hours maximum on a single charge), as other devices in this price range offer far more, we couldn't argue with the noise cancellation and sound quality. It's also one of the most comfortable cans I've ever tried.

If you're interested, you can pick up a set of Bose QuietComfort Ultra headphones in any color for just AU$448.20 on Amazon. Note that they're already reduced to AU$498 each. However, click the Redeem button to receive an additional 10% discount at checkout.

LG C4 OLED TV

Let's start with one of the most popular purchases on Black Friday – a television.

The LG C4 OLED is one of TechRadar's favorite TVs of 2024 and finds itself in our list of the best TVs in Australia as the most versatile option. In our LG C4 OLED test, we praised the picture quality as excellent, but also loved it because it's one of the best TVs for gaming. The webOS platform is easy to use and, more importantly, you can purchase virtually any size from Appliance Central and get some really great discounts. My pick would be the 65-inch unit as it's the best choice size-wise for most homes and offers a generous saving of AU$1,369 – all the way up to AU$2,930.
