Jalen Hurt's NFL MVP odds skyrocket during the Eagles' winning streak

The Philadelphia Eagles moved to 4-0 since their Week 5 bye with a win over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, and quarterback Jalen Hurts is suddenly in the running for the league's MVP award.

At 6-2 this season, the Eagles look to be one of the best teams in the NFC, and Hurts' great play is a big reason why.

Here's what the NFL MVP market looks like after Sunday's Week 9 action.

Odds via DraftKings Sportsbook.

The Eagles had a slow start to the 2024 season despite still picking up wins, but since the bye in Week 5, Jalen Hurts has completely changed things as a passer and runner.

Over the last four weeks, Hurts has scored at least two points in every game, and he hasn't thrown a single interception over that stretch (his last pick came in Week 3).

So in this four-game series, Hurts has contributed a total of 12 touchdowns and used his legs as a weapon in several contests.

Even though he won't have the rushing yard numbers of Lamar Jackson, Hurts is still one of the best dual-threat quarterbacks in the game.

If the Eagles can overtake Daniels and the Washington Commanders for first place in the NFC East and compete for the No. 1 seed in the NFC, Hurts has a serious case for MVP at this point in the season.
