Jamie Erdahl blows the Gjallarhorn before the Vikings' Sunday Night Football game

Perhaps one of the coolest pregame rituals in the NFL is the ceremonial sounding of a giant Gjallarhorn by the Minnesota Vikings while fans in the stadium sing the iconic “Skol” chant. And for a Vikings fan, you have to imagine that being able to blow the Gjallarhorn before a game and receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom is an honor.

NFL Network's Jamie Erdahl, a lifelong Vikings fan, hosts the network's flagship morning show Good morning footballShe received this honor before her team faced the Indianapolis Colts Football on Sunday evenings.

“The host of Good morning football on NFL Network. She is from Bloomington, Minnesota. When she gets home, she gets to blow the Gjallarhorn to get the whole thing started,” NBC play-by-play announcer Mike Tirico told fans.

Erdahl was bubbly as usual – perhaps even more excited than she is on air at 4 a.m. local time GMFB is live from Los Angeles. The popular morning show host broke down in tears last month when Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell told her live on television that she would receive the honor before Sunday's Colts game.

You have to give Erdahl credit, she made the most of her moment. After leading the “Skol” chant, Erdahl blew his horn and threw a series of emphatic punches. For a Vikings fan, it really can't get any better than this.
