Harris tells Nevada: 'Make no mistake – we will win'

“Make no mistake: We will win,” she says.

“It’s time for a new generation of leadership in America,” Harris said. “And I’m ready to offer that leadership.”

Harris, who recently turned 60, is a generation younger than Donald Trump, her 78-year-old opponent, and Joe Biden, 81, whom she replaced on the Democratic ticket.

Trump's comments come at a time when he is struggling to reach female voters and at a time when Harris is courting women in both parties with a message centered on freedom. She argues that women should have the freedom to make their own decisions about their bodies and that if Trump is elected, more restrictions will follow as both campaigns head toward Tuesday's presidential election.

At a rally Wednesday evening near Green Bay, Wisconsin, Trump told supporters that his aides had asked him to stop using the term “protector” because it was “inappropriate.”

He then added a new bit to the line of protectors. He said he told his aides, “Well, I'm going to do it whether the women like it or not.” I will protect her.”

Those comments dominated much of Harris' Thursday as the two campaigns jostled for the remarks.

More on Harris' comments: She said that Donald Trump's comment that he would protect women whether they “like it or not” showed that the Republican presidential candidate does not understand women's right to “make decisions about their own lives, including hers.” own body.” ”

“I think it's offensive to everyone, by the way,” Harris said before heading out to campaign in the western battlegrounds of Arizona and Nevada.

At her rally in Phoenix, she expanded on these comments: “He just doesn't respect women's freedom or women's intelligence to know what's in their own best interest and make decisions accordingly. “But we trust women.”

Meanwhile, in Arizona, we're taking quite a trip down memory lane as Trump expresses his opposition to the Iraq War and takes a swipe at George W. Bush, the last Republican to occupy the White House before moving in .

“Anyone who went to the Middle East I thought was stupid,” Trump said.

“Bush, oh, he was just, he was another beauty,” he continued, seeming to hold back from insulting the ex-president.

There are still five days left, and “nobody can sit on the sidelines,” Harris says.

People should reach out to friends and family, as well as neighbors and colleagues.

“In the next few days, let’s be intentional about building community,” she says

Harris reminds fans in Las Vegas that she has spent her life fighting for people who have been “hurt.”

She has lived the promise of America, she says, and sees it in everyone there tonight.

Donald Trump is now insulting Kamala Harris in Arizona, saying she's not as smart as Hillary Clinton.

The insult came as he recounted his path to the White House in 2016, saying: “Suddenly I'm fighting the corrupt Hillary Clinton, who is a smart woman, much smarter than Kamala, but doesn't lie as much.” Hillary was one Liar, a terrible villain, but she lies so much and she is a low IQ person.”

Another one from Trump about Harris: “She’s stupid as a rock. And you can’t have that.”

At the Harris event, the crowd chants, “We’re not going back!” We’re not going back!”

“We will not go back because our fight is a fight for the future and a fight for freedom. A woman’s freedom to make decisions about her own body.”

She reminds voters that changes to abortion laws under Trump mean that one in three women now live in a state with an abortion ban.

Tucker Carlson Then I asked a question about the CIA-FBI conspiracy Trumpbut the former president didn't seem interested in responding.

Instead, he proposed firing everyone involved in the Biden administration's withdrawal from Afghanistan.

“You mentioned the enemy within. . … It is a fact that the CIA and the FBI, who are absolutely not allowed by law to influence American politics, because that is the end of democracy. Both of these and a number of other intelligence agencies have been working against you on behalf of the Democratic Party since your election in 2016, and they are still doing so. They are working against you. “Now what are you going to do about it?” Carlson asked.

Trump didn't quite say it, but talked about how success in Washington is all about finding the right people. Then he brought up the chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan, the point at which… Joe BidenApproval ratings began to decline to levels from which they never recovered.

“By the way, any of these people involved in Afghanistan should be fired immediately. Every general should be fired immediately. You know, Biden isn’t firing anyone,” Trump said.

Meanwhile, at Trump's event:

Donald Trump once again emphasized that “the enemy from within,” as he called his political opponents, was a real threat to the country.

Kamala Harris used his comments to argue that he is a fascist seeking “unchecked power,” but Trump doesn't seem to mind.

“We have an enemy within. We have some very bad people, and those people are also very dangerous. They would like to destroy our country. They want our country to become a beautiful communist country or in every possible way a fascist country, and we have to be wary of that. But they are the biggest deceivers because as soon as I spoke of an enemy within, they said… oh, he says an enemy within. They’re sick puppies, I’m telling you.”

More details on J Lo's appearance a few moments ago, from the press pool report:

Jennifer Lopez took the stage at 9:02 a.m. wearing a long olive dress. The audience sounded very pleased.

The event will be livestreamed, but here are a few quotes:

“They are the ones who are going to send a message – that Las Vegas is Harris country

“Kamala Harris gets it…. As President of the United States, Kamala will fight for us… and the freedom to choose what we do with our bodies.”

About Trump and Madison Square Garden:
“It wasn’t just Puerto Ricans who were offended that day. It was every Latino.”

Shout “Thank you” and “We love you, J-Lo”
