Former correspondent Jessica Williams stopped by The Daily Show on Monday to remind host Jon Stewart of his privilege.

“Jessica, is it really you?” Stewart asked as if she were Jacob Marley who had come to get everything A Christmas story and introduce him to some spirits.

“Don't be sad, Jon.” The shrinkage Star said. “Everything will be okay… for you, a white man – a rich, old white man.”

“Do you think my privilege of being a rich old white man will save me?” he asked.

He got a weak “maybe” out of her, then she accused him of having an “incurable disease.” Are you dying?” Asked why she would think that, Williams, who last appeared on the show in April, said: “Just your general mood and that whole facial thing – shot. I mean, I understand why you've aged so much: the whole last year has been you working hard every day on the show.

Stewart sheepishly replied, “I only host on Mondays.”

“Oh, really? Damned. Okay, double woof,” Williams said as Stewart stifled his laughter. “Look, it doesn’t matter, okay? No, come on. It doesn't matter because for non-old white people, for people of color, for women, for queer people, it's going to be a completely different story. Right? Now let me give you some advice: Look, Jon, I know you're exhausted. Anger and disappointment are exhausting in our political discourse and say, “Good! I’m tired of going through people’s rights.” Love Island.'”

“I just want to make it clear, okay?” she continued. “Don’t let them tire you. Don't let the constant, draining cops wear you out Fall of Trulys.' And no matter what happens, we must wrap our arms around the people who need us most and persevere. Understood?”

Williams then assured Stewart that she was there for him (and The Daily Show). When he reminded her that he had just extended his contract for another year, she wondered aloud whether his health would allow it.

Williams appears at about 15:04 in the YouTube video above.
