Ex-Juventus striker David Trezeguet described Inter as the “strongest and most complete” team in Serie A, but hopes Dusan Vlahovic can score to inspire his former side to a victory that will send a “strong signal” to the entire league would be.

The Bianconeri travel to the San Siro to face Simone Inzaghi's side, who are just a point above them, and the former France international believes these two teams will be involved in the title fight alongside Antonio Conte's Napoli as he calls Milan ” “behind” looks.

One of the most prolific strikers in the Old Lady's history, Trezeguet noted that Juventus needed Vlahovic to be “more determined” to increase their chances of winning the title, as the Serbia international would be judged on his “numbers” which is always the case with great strikers.

Trezeguet: Juventus needs to keep Inter and Napoli close, Vlahovic needs to be “more decisive”.

“Inter remains the strongest and most complete team in the league, but Antonio Conte's Napoli will fight to the end: you can already see their fighting strength,” Trezeguet said in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“If Juventus win at the San Siro they will send a strong signal not only to Inter but to the entire league.

“Juventus have just embarked on an interesting path with Thiago Motta, they have had a good start and need to stay in the wake of Napoli and Inter, ready to take advantage (of any slip-up).”

“I see Milan behind these three teams.”

Trezeguet has fond memories of the Derby d'Italia games during his time at Juventus, which were marked by two Serie A title wins.

“We have always played very good games at San Siro, the Derby d'Italia is always a special evening,” added the former striker.

“My fondest memory goes back to the 2007/2008 season, when we returned to Serie A after the Calciopoli scandal: we beat Inter 2-1 with goals from me and Camoranesi.

“It was a special victory for the fans who cared even more about this game after this season in Serie B.”

“I hope Vlahovic scores this time.”

The Serbian striker scored five times in Juventus' first eight Serie A games, but Trezeguet feels he should “determine” more than him, although it also “depends” on his teammates.

“He is a striker with important qualities, but he should dictate more, like Lautaro does for Inter,” said Trezeguet.

“Motta relies a lot on Dusan and he needs to be even more decisive. We can talk a lot, but Juventus' story is clear: the central striker has to score, and he will be judged by his numbers. It was like that for me, and now it's the same for Vlahovic.

“He moves well: he has scored seven goals and has the quality to score 30 goals, but it also depends on Juventus.” The team must have the same will and be attacking.

“I hope that Vlahovic can overtake me over time, records are there to be broken. A great striker has to live for goals and make history.

“Winning a Scudetto would help Vlahovic make a step up in quality.”
