KLAQ Halloween parade, carnival, haunted houses

It's Halloween! Even though October 31st falls on a Thursday, there are plenty of ways to celebrate: get free candy, play games, and attend the annual KLAQ Halloween parade.

Across the city, the Parks and Recreation Department will host carnivals at four community centers. The free carnivals provide families with a safe and festive environment with bouncing balloons, music, carnival games, sweets and treats. Families are encouraged to come in their favorite costumes and join in the fun.

Dave & Busters has a great selection including candy, games and more. Bassett Place also offers safe trick-or-treating indoors. And La Nube offers free entry for children, while adults pay entry.

If you want to be scared, there are some professional haunted houses, as well as those built by El Paso residents who enjoy decorating and handing out candy.

KLAQ Halloween parade

This will be the 39th annual Halloween parade for radio station KLAQ-95.5. This year's theme is the 2019 release, Midsommar, and it begins at Album Park on Thursday, October 31st at 3:30 p.m. The parade route is west on Album Street to Cork Drive, left on Cork Drive to Daphne Court, west on Daphne Court to Fir Street, south to Bermuda Drive, left on Bermuda Drive and east to Zanzibar Road , north to Album Street and back to the park.

Afterwards, Scotsdale Baptist Church will host a church event on Thursday, October 31, from 4 to 7 p.m. at 10015 Lockerbie Ave. a trunk or treat. The event is free and includes snacks, candy, games and more. The gates open to the KLAQ Halloween Parade, which passes through Album (Eastwood) Park.

There are carnivals in Parks and Recreation

The City of El Paso Parks and Recreation Department invites the community to celebrate Halloween at the annual Halloween Carnival taking place on Thursday, October 31, from 4 to 7 p.m. at various recreation and community centers. Entry is free.

At La Nube, children get in free on Halloween

La Nube, 201 W. Main Drive, invites families to an evening of spooky science and treats! From 5:00 p.m., children have free entry to La Nube, while adults must purchase a ticket. Walk-ins are welcome. The sweets will be distributed from 6 to 7 p.m. while supplies last. Fun experiences include glow-in-the-dark slime making, monster coding maze, Elixer mixing station, Mystery Box of Science, and building skeletal structures. Single day tickets are $18.

Celebrate Halloween at Dave & Busters

Dave & Busters serves families on Thursday, October 31, from 4 to 7 p.m. at 6101 Gateway Blvd. a great time. W. Suite 2006. Each $10 ticket includes two companions, a $15 Power Card with unlimited video games, entry into a costume contest for a chance to win a year of free games, a candy scavenger hunt, trick -or- treatment and more. The first 25 to purchase tickets will receive a free Halloween gift bag.

Trick-or-treat at Bassett Place

El Paso families are invited to celebrate Halloween at Bassett Place's annual Trick or Treat event, Thursday, Oct. 31, at 4:30 p.m. at 6101 Gateway Blvd. begins. West.

Los Alio Farm is bringing Pumpkin Patch to the East Side

Los Alio Farm in La Union has set up a pumpkin patch for October at its new facility, JumboPark, 11180 Rojas Drive. The bounce house park will feature a pumpkin patch with a petting zoo, barrel train, pumpkin carving and sales, and a corn maze daily through November 3rd from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

San Pablo Lutheran Church hosts the Fall Festival

San Pablo Lutheran Church will host Fall Festival on Thursday, October 31, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at 301 S. Schutz Drive. The festival includes sweets, games and food. Free admission.

El Paso Community College is hosting a Halloween event

El Paso Community College is hosting a Friendly Spooky Carnival on Thursday, Oct. 31, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Northwest Campus, 6701 S. Desert Blvd., Building A, Flexitorium.

Haunted house in Socorro

In the heart of Socorro, nestled in a pecan grove, is the Grove Haunted House. Take a walk through the enchanted trees on Thursday, October 31, 7:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., 10612 Horn Circle. The cost is $20.

Spooky carnival on Chandelier Road

The family at 425 Chandelier Road must run a gauntlet of scary clowns before the kids can get their treats. Come if you dare on Thursday, October 31st, from 5:30 p.m. to 9:45 p.m.

KLAQ Haunted Houses of Terror

Most El Paso residents are familiar with the KLAQ Haunted Houses of Terror, open through Saturday, November 2nd at 13900 Montana Ave. You can expect to walk or run through 13 rooms of terror.

Opening hours: Thursday from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 7 p.m. to midnight and Sunday from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Cost: $25 Tickets at the door. Students receive a $5 discount on Thursdays with a valid school ID. Information: hauntedhousesofterror.com

Shoppes at Solana is home to Murder House

The Shoppes at Solana will have a Murder House-themed haunted house in the former theater throughout October. The house uses strobe lights and fog to create the backdrop for an eerie circus-style nightmare.

The opening will take place on Thursday, October 31st at 6 p.m. at 750 Sunland Park Drive. General admission tickets, which include a service fee, are $26.50 and are available online at www.ticketleap.events. Information: 915-502-3968.
