Kurtis Rourke was sidelined to open Indiana's second half against Nebraska

Kurtis Rourke has been phenomenal for Indiana with a 6-0 start to the season and a strong first half against Nebraska. Unfortunately, the veteran quarterback was unable to open the second half with the Hoosier offense.

At some point in the first half, Rourke threw a pass, but his counterattack landed his hand in the arm of a Nebraska defender. He seemed upset about the game but stayed in the game.

FOX sideline reporter Jenny Taft revealed that Rourke visited trainers and received treatment for a bloody right thumb. However, head coach Curt Cignetti claimed it was nothing and Rourke could move on.

Rourke finished the first half against Nebraska completing 17 of 21 passes for 189 yards and a touchdown to go, along with an interception on a Hail Mary to end the half. Unfortunately, it was Tayven Jackson who opened the second half with the first drive for the offense.

No official update has been released on Rourke's status, but it will be something to keep an eye on. Through the first six games of the season, Indiana averaged the second-most points per game in the entire FBS, with Rourke leading the way.

Then again, with a 21-point halftime lead, it's possible this is a precautionary measure for the Hoosiers to see if they can pull out a win without Rourke in the lineup. Jackson led a short-field touchdown drive in his first action of the game, and Indiana is currently in complete control.
