Lake Charles, your trash won't be picked up on Monday and here's why

If you live in the Lake Charles metropolitan area and your trash is typically picked up on Mondays, you will need to plan for it not to be picked up this Monday, November 11, 2024.

The big question is that your trash won't be picked up on Monday. When will it be picked up then and why isn't your trash picked up this week? You may not have noticed, but the Veterans Day holiday is this Monday, Monday, November 11, 2024. And since it is a national holiday, federal, state and local government offices will be closed on this day.

One of these local authorities is the City of Lake Charles. Katie Harington told the city that the City of Lake Charles will observe Veterans Day and that City Hall and other services will be closed or suspended that day.

She gave us an insight into the garbage plan and we wanted to pass it on to you. So if your trash is picked up on Mondays, you can find the new schedule here.

Kattie Harrington from the city said:

The City of Lake Charles will observe Veterans Day on Monday, November 11, 2024. There will be no trash collection on Monday, November 11, 2024.

There are the following changes to garbage and garbage collection:

• Trash and trash that would normally be picked up on Monday will be rescheduled for pickup until Tuesday, November 12, 2024.
• Garbage and trash normally picked up on Tuesday will be rescheduled for pickup to Wednesday, November 13, 2024.
• The routes on Thursday and Friday remain in the regular timetable.

All recycling stations, including the Team Green recycling truck and incinerator, will be closed on Monday, November 11, 2024. They will resume regular operations on Tuesday, November 12, 2024.

For those of you who live in Calcasieu Parish and have Waste Management pick up your trash, your service will not be interrupted even though the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury offices will be closed on Monday, November 11, 2024, for the holiday.
