Latest news about the Los Angeles Chargers star

Los Angeles Chargers star edge rusher Joey Bosa continues to recover from a hip injury as the team approaches a crucial Week 6 AFC West showdown with the Denver Broncos.

On the first day of training on Wednesday, Herbert was not present for the open portion of the proceedings. It later appeared on the injury report that he did not participate at all.

Unless there is a dramatic change in the next two days, it is unlikely that Bosa will play against the Broncos.

Bosa aggravated his nagging hip injury in the first game of his team's Week 3 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers and missed the following week's loss to the Kansas City Chiefs before the bye week.

The latest injury setback for Bosa came at a precarious time, as he is now 29 years old and has an extension in his contract after this season if the Chargers want to part ways. He hasn't played in a double-digit number of games since 2021 and has struggled with various injuries at the same time. Bosa had already missed time during training camp over the summer after undergoing surgery on a broken hand during a joint practice with the Los Angeles Rams.

If Bosa doesn't play against the Broncos, the pressure will increase on Khalil Mack to chase the quarterback, and Bud Dupree and the up-and-coming Tuli Tuipulotu will have more opportunities.
