Lockdown lifted at Seton Hall Prep in West Orange: “Campus is safe”

WEST ORANGE, NJ – A temporary lockdown was in place at Seton Hall Preparatory School in West Orange Wednesday morning. Authorities have since said there is no legitimate threat and the campus is safe.

According to a message from Seton Hall Prep and the West Orange Police Department:

“Students, faculty and staff responded to a lockdown message over the PA system at approximately 10:25 a.m. this morning, which was investigated by the West Orange Police Department and concluded that there was no legitimate threat. The police and SHP security team have searched the building and everything is safe. SHP faculty members will notify students that it is safe to return to campus. Please let your parents know that it is safe to return if you can contact them. Please return through Door 1. Parents, if you have already picked up your son or a high school student has gone home, he will be excluded from class for the remainder of the day. Regular buses and train buses will run at normal times this afternoon.”

“Thank you to everyone for such a quick and focused response, including the West Orange Police Department,” said Seton Hall Prep.
