Look of the day for October 23rd: Cavs' Mobley takes big step forward

We suffered a tough loss in our “Tuesday Look of the Day” as Donte DiVincenzo was 0.5 points + assists short of his over. DiVincenzo played 31 minutes in the game, but went just 3-for-11 from the field and at one point missed two straight free throws. We're still feeling good about the handicap, so let's get back on track with another NBA prop on Wednesday night.

Look of the Day: Evan Mobley 30+ points + rebounds + assists (+100 DraftKings)

The Cleveland Cavaliers face the Toronto Raptors in their season opener, and we'll be looking for Mobley to fill the stat sheet.

This won't look like the same Cavs team we saw under JB Bickerstaff. New head coach Kenny Atkinson wants to increase the tempo and create more possession, and we saw that in the preseason when Cleveland had the fourth-fastest pace in the NBA. The Raptors also love to play fast, and they figure to be one of the worst defensive teams in the league. Last year, Toronto gave up the sixth-most points per game to opposing power forwards.

More ball possession in fast-paced games leads to more scoring, rebounding and assist opportunities for every player on the field. Mobley set career highs in rebounds (9.4) and assists (3.2) per game last season and handed out 3.7 dimes in just 25.6 minutes per game in the preseason.

Mobley is poised to take a big step forward this year, and Atkinson wants him to take on a larger role as a playmaker in this system.
