Mariah Carey's new wax figure is absolutely perfect

Mariah Carey is ready for the holiday season, and the same goes for her new holiday-themed wax figure that has fans in awe.

Immediately after Halloween, Carey has been known to usher in the next round of holidays, particularly Christmas. So on November 3, she announced on Instagram that fans could join her in enjoying the festive spirit and visiting her Madame Tussauds wax figure in New York City.

“I finally found someone to help me deliver toys this year!” She captioned a slideshow of pictures of her posing with the wax figure, which is a spitting image of the icon. She also thanked the famous museum for the honor.

Can you recognize the real “All I Want for Christmas Is You” singer?

The real Carey smiles in a sparkly black dress and holds an ornament next to the character, who is wearing a similar Christmas decoration that matches her ruby red dress. Madame Tussauds also perfectly recreated the music superstar's golden, wavy locks.

The singer's post included a clip in which she sees the character for the first time with her 13-year-old twins Monroe and Moroccan, whom she shares with ex-husband Nick Cannon.

“Oh my God,” Carey said as she approached the figure.

“Wow! It's like I'm looking at you through a mirror,” marveled Moroccan.

The mother-of-two agreed, adding: “Wow! It's surreal. Very good. Look at these shoes!”

She then pointed out that the sculptor even added the beauty mark on her chin.

“We wanted to have an “Everything I Want for Christmas” experience all year long. “This dress is inspired by Marilyn Monroe,” she explained in the video. She also revealed that the rubies the character wears are her own jewelry.

She mentioned that the exhibit has more personal touches, such as nutcrackers and images of Jack Russell terriers, her family's favorite dog breed.

“Wax Mariah is my new best friend,” she said before the clip ended.

She wasn't the only one struck by the striking resemblance. Fans applauded Madame Tussauds in the comments for not missing the mark.

One fan commented: “Daaaaang!! You did it.”

Another praised: “It looks real! You did a great job!”

A third joked: “Will the real Mariah please stand up!!!”

The arrival of the wax figure at the New York location was also celebrated on Madame Tussauds USA's Instagram.

“The Queen of Christmas has officially arrived!” The museum cheered, later calling the figure Carey’s “wax twin.”

Carey's fan-favorite wax figure comes after other superstars such as Taylor Swift and Beyoncé were the subject of more controversial wax figures this year.

In February, Beyoncé's fans thought the singer's wax figure at Madame Tussauds, Blackpool – in Blackpool, England – looked more like Leah Remini. Swifties voiced their disapproval in August after a wax figure of the “Fortnight” singer was unveiled at the Panoptikum Museum in Hamburg.

Luckily for Carey's fans, collectively known as the Lambily, there appear to be no complaints about Madame Tussaud's latest tribute to her. The new wax figure can now be seen.
