Mark Cuban congratulates Trump and Musk on their victory before the race is called

  • Mark Cuban, a key Harris surrogate, congratulated Trump in a post on X before the race was called.
  • At the time, Trump was on the verge of taking Pennsylvania, which had been an unconditional victory for Harris.
  • Cuban also congratulated Elon Musk – a major Trump donor and staunch supporter of the Republican Party.

Votes are still being counted, but Mark Cuban, a key campaign official for Vice President Kamala Harris, has tipped the race for her opponent, former President Donald Trump.

“You won fair and square,” Cuban wrote on X on Wednesday morning. “Congratulations also to @elonmusk. #Godspeed.”

The Cuban initially supported President Joe Biden's re-election campaign. He shifted his support to Harris after she became the Democratic nominee.

The “Shark Tank” star has been busy campaigning for Harris, appearing at rallies in swing states like Arizona, Michigan and Wisconsin.

Cuban isn't the only one who believes Trump is on his way to the White House again.

In an X post on Wednesday, Elon Musk, one of Trump's most vocal supporters, said the former president had been given a “crystal clear mandate for change.”

At the time of Cuban's inauguration, Trump was clearly the favorite to win the White House, with two decisive swing state victories and leads in other battleground states.

Cedric Richmond, co-chair of the Harris-Walz campaign, said around 1 a.m. ET that Harris would not address her supporters at Howard University on Tuesday evening. Richmond said Harris will instead deliver her remarks Wednesday morning at Howard University.

“We still have to count votes. There are still states that have not yet been called. We will continue to fight overnight to ensure every vote is counted and every voice has spoken,” Richmond said.

Representatives for Cuban and the Harris campaign did not immediately respond to Business Insider's requests for comment.
