Matt Reeves is in talks with HBO for more “The Batman” spinoffs

It seems that Matt Reeves is sold on the idea of expanding his Batman Epic Crime Saga via an HBO series for his villains.

Speaking in a new interview with The WrapReeves explained his thought process behind using HBO to expand the roles of Rogues Gallery. “It's this thing where you try to organize it so that the movie becomes the show,” Reeves said. “We change the point of view. We're doing something that we don't really have space to do on this level in the films: we're diving deep into the character of Oz, but then we leave ourselves to the next film and let him get into the story. ”

And it looks like this won't be the end of the road. “I can tell you we would like to be able to do more. But I can also say that we are already talking to HBO about (more),” Reeves said. “The ability to then explore characters on HBO that might not have those kinds of opportunities creatively, like we did with Oz, is something we're talking to HBO about.” They are very enthusiastic about this idea. That's something we really hope we can do.” He added: “We have The Batman. We have The penguin. And who knows what’s next.”

Although it has been confirmed that Colin Farrell will appear as Oz in the sequel, it is not yet known what other villains will be coming to Gotham City this time.

The penguin airs new episodes Sundays at 9 p.m. Eastern on HBO and Max.
