ESPN draft expert Mel Kiper Jr. released his updated big board on Thursday, and Georgia quarterback Carson Beck didn't make the top 25.

Could Beck slip into the 2024 season after a lackluster start?

“At the moment it is questionable. At the moment it is very questionable whether he will do that,” said Kiper when asked if Beck would be eliminated in the first round (8:35). “He needs to do some things toward the end of the year — he’ll have a chance at Georgia, they’ll be in the (College Football Playoff) — to see what he can do there on the biggest stage.”

Kiper ranked Beck as the No. 4 quarterback available, behind Colorado's Shedeur Sanders (No. 11 overall on his big board), Miami's Cam Ward (No. 12 overall) and Alabama's Jalen Milroe (outside the top 25 ). Texas' Quinn Ewers ranked fifth among quarterbacks, followed by Penn State's Drew Allar, LSU's Garrett Nussmeier, Indiana's Kurtis Rourke, Ole Miss' Jaxson Dart and Ohio State's Will Howard (in that order).

Beck, a senior, has thrown for 1,993 yards, 15 touchdowns and eight interceptions this year, completing 66 percent of his passes and recording seven sacks. His interceptions are already higher than last year's six, while his completion percentage — while solid — is hardly as impressive as last year's 72.4 percent.

Yes, Georgia is still 6-1 and is once again a major threat after picking up a convincing win over previously top-ranked Texas two weeks ago. But if Beck wants to hear his name called in the first round of April's NFL draft, he'll need to provide league evaluators with more solid tape.
