Memphis Grizzlies star suffers injury against Brooklyn Nets

The Memphis Grizzlies have a strong, well-rounded roster that is fully capable of making the playoffs. But only if they can stay healthy. They have failed to do this in recent history, and it has been their greatest downfall.

With Ja Morant on the field for the club, they have the opportunity to win a game on any given night. However, it is his supporting cast that ensures they remain competitive over the course of a season. During a Wednesday night contest against the Brooklyn Nets, two Grizzlies guards suffered injuries that forced them out of the game.

According to the team, Desmond Bane will be out for the remainder of the game with an oblique injury.

Prior to Bane's injury, Marcus Smart suffered an ankle injury that also sidelined him from the game. The two guards play a big role in the Grizzlies' rotations and are an important part of what the team is building.

Memphis won more than 50 games in two straight seasons, although they posted a 27-55 record a season ago. The reason? Injuries. At the beginning, the club again had to struggle with serious injuries.

The Grizzlies are playing a close game in the third quarter and are looking to defeat the Nets to improve their 2-2 record in four games.
