Mike Tyson claims he “doesn’t know how to get on the internet” to read comments about the Jake Paul fight

In Tyson's last professional fight in 2005, he was eliminated by the relatively unknown Kevin McBride. He returned to an exhibition bout in 2006 before being out of the ring for 14 years, facing Roy Jones Jr. again in 2020, which ended in a draw.

The original date for Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson was set for July 20, but the fight had to be postponed after the boxing icon suffered an ulcer flare-up during a flight. He needed medical attention and was told by doctors to take a break from training.

However, he insisted that he was fine and that the fight should continue. Ultimately, the decision was made to postpone the date to November 15th and it appears that there are now minimal obstacles preventing the fight.

The fight will appear on both men's professional records, although the rules have been changed slightly to call for two-minute rounds and 14-ounce gloves. Paul has a 10-1 record as a professional and actively competes, while Tyson's 50-6 record has remained unchanged since the 2005 fight with McBride.

Ahead of the fight, Tyson's advanced age is one of the major controversies surrounding the fight. He turned 58 this summer and last even took part in a low-stakes exhibition fight in November 2020.

The last time he won heavyweight gold was in the late 1990s, when he defeated Frank Bruno for the WBC title at the age of 29. Jake Paul was not yet born at the time of this fight, and many consider it irresponsible to place fighters with such an age difference in the ring among themselves.

However, if any of the reviews are written online, Iron Mike will not read them. He was recently asked a series of questions by Netflix about a social media video, including questions about his social media activity.

The social media team asked him: “What's the funniest thing you've read about yourself on the internet?” Tyson replied that he couldn't read what was written about him online because he wasn't sure how to could access the Internet.

“I don’t read the Internet or watch the Internet,” he noted. “I don’t know how to get on the internet. I know how to turn it on, but I wouldn't know what or how to press it or how to spell to get to the Internet, I wouldn't know how to do that, no.”
