More than 0,000 from the Coastal Carolina Fair supports 78 nonprofit organizations

More than $500,000 raised at last year's Coastal Carolina Fair was distributed to 78 nonprofit organizations, providing a significant boost to community services.

Erin Ulmer from Camp Rise Above thanked us for the support. “Because we have had support from them for years, we are really able to expand and grow to serve more and more families in our community,” Ulmer said.

Funds were distributed by the Exchange Club of Charleston, which organizes the fair. Ulmer added: “I have always loved the fair. And it’s really exciting to have a day of fun with my own children, but also to share with others that it all leads to greater change in the community.”

Another recipient, Habitat for Humanity of Berkeley County, emphasized the impact of the donations. April Elswick with the organization said, “As we build homes, other organizations are finding homes for foster children, other organizations are hosting camps, other organizations are taking care of all the different needs that we need here in the Tri-County.”

Elswick noted that the contributions allow Habitat to expand its mission. “This enables us to build more. Instead of building one house a year, we can build three or four houses a year, which means more families get a permanent home,” she said.

Tony Giuliani, president of the Exchange Club of Charleston, said he was proud of the results. “It really means a lot to me to be able to fulfill this role that I have here and to be able to help,” Giuliani said. “It's a big challenge, but I have a great board that works with me and is very helpful. We are a team where everyone comes together and works together. And as you can see, it is successful. We” I'm ready to give away a lot of money.
