NBA players Brandon Ingram and Anfernee Simons each have a child by the same woman and were fighting for family bragging rights

NBA players Brandon Ingram and Anfernee Simons each have a child by the same woman and were fighting for family bragging rights

Let's just call it a spade. NBA players love to share the baby-mama drama, and apparently young and rich NBA players are giving up common sense and contraceptives to play pitch and snag a million-dollar sperm donor with women who make it their mission , making money…respectfully.

Aaleeyah Petty: New Orleans Pelicans star Brandon Ingram shares baby mama with Portland Trail Blazers star Anfernee Simons

These stories of various professional athletes sharing their baby mamas are nothing new and are mostly full of messy drama spreading across social media with various women debating who is currently more important to a man who is always up looking for the next treat. The constant narrative of celebrity men and IG models playing musical chairs is a bit stale and unsurprising at this point.

However, every now and then intrigues arise that add drama to what is actually happening on the field.

The New Orleans Pelicans rallied from a deficit to defeat the Portland Trail Blazers 105-103 on Friday night as the game ended with Pelicans forward Brandon Ingram taking a win over Anfernee Simons.

Why is this news? Both are up-and-coming players on the pitch and now family members off the pitch too.

Ingram, 27, and Simons, 25, each have a child with the same woman, Aaleeyah Petty, a 30-year-old Instagram model with 1.3 million followers. Surprise! That certainly puts a twist on things.

Battle Of The NBA Baby Daddies: Pelicans and Trail Blazers split games over the weekend

If Petty wanted to see which baby daddy would be there for her in the clutch, this first of two weekend meetings might have given her some insight into the future situation.

The score was 103-103 and Ingram, once touted as a franchise player, went one-on-one with Simons. Petty was certainly beside himself at that moment. Few, if any, WAGs face this situation very often. With six seconds on the clock, the 6-foot-2 Ingram managed a fadeaway jump over the 6-foot-2 Simons.

Ingram's teammates seemed to know the deal because after the shot was fired, Ingram's teammates could be heard saying, “Yeah, twin, tell her who's better, tell her who's better.”

Definitely a frightening moment, but a reality of the professional sports and relationship landscape that has always existed. In such an environment, men are competitive in every way, and the same goes for the women who move in their circles.

I'm not sure what was going on in the Petty household between the two siblings, but that was probably worth livestreaming.

How old are Aaleeyah Petty's children with Brandon Ingram and Anfernee Simons?

Pelicans forward Ingram has a five-year-old young son with Petty, but he doesn't celebrate her publicly and chooses to keep their relationship as private as possible, although he will appear at her son's birthday party in 2022. Simons' paternity was announced in 2023 and he also attended the baby shower when Lee was pregnant.

Last season, the IG model posted a picture with the caption, “+1 coming 2/24.” Although she didn't reveal the NBA player's name as her father, the picture that shaded Petty had a sign that read, “Welcome “Baby Simons”.

Petty teased everyone, but fans noticed that the tattoos on the faceless father's wrist matched Simons's. This was an easy case to solve for social media gossip sleuths, who used deductive reasoning to ensure that the Trail Blazers ballplayer was indeed the father.

Anfernee Simons gets revenge on Brandon Ingram after the Pelicans win on Friday

So Ingram, who makes about $6 million per season, prevailed in the first match against Simons, who makes about $26 million this season. The Portland Trail Blazers are expected to be one of the worst teams in the NBA's Western Conference, while the Pelicans are expected to be one of the better teams.

Simons quickly returned the favor, scoring a game-high 27 points in a 125-103 win over the Pelicans in Portland on Sunday. Ingram managed just 14 points after scoring 21 with eight boards in Friday's win.

Any NBA player who engages in questionable activities with IG models has good days and bad days. The only one who usually wins is the baby's mother when the child support money arrives.
