Marshon Lattimore is an elite cornerback in the NFL and is considered a “league oddity” by NFL Media's Ian Rapoport despite a hamstring injury that is currently sidelining him.

The insider reported that multiple teams were checking on Lattimore's status. Fox Sports insider Jordan Schultz reiterated that report, but added that it remains unclear whether New Orleans would be willing to accept this deal.

Schultz concluded: “Contending teams believe a loss to Carolina could cause New Orleans to look closely at multiple plays.”

In fact, the Saints lost to Carolina.

However, that doesn't mean the organization will start selling parts. Rapoport wrote: “Competing general managers all know that Saints Executive Vice President/GM Mickey Loomis is not typically one to sell parts.”

Ultimately, any deal surrounding the starting cornerback would have to be impressive to convince the Saints to part with one of their best players.

Perhaps such a deal will come from Kansas City, which was one of the teams interested in acquiring Lattimore, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Regardless, a bad Saints team will likely call on some of their key players. It's up to the front office to decide whether or not the team is officially in rebuilding mode.
