Northwest winds bring autumn cold

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – There will be a noticeable cooling on Sunday, with highs in northern parts of the state struggling to reach the mid to upper 50s, while areas further south may dip into the low to low 50s mid-60s values ​​rise.

Winds will be a major factor, with strong northwest gusts between 25 and 35 mph making it feel even cooler. These brisk winds will provide a cooler air mass and set the stage for a chilly Sunday night with temperatures dropping into the mid to upper 30s.
