Nottingham Forest vs Crystal Palace LIVE

FULL TIME: NOTTINGHAM FOREST 1-0 CRYSTAL PALACE

Crystal Palace's brilliant winless start to the Premier League season was extended to eight games as Oliver Glasner's side suffered a 1-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest on Monday.

After an incredible run of form at the end of the 2023/24 season, which saw them win six of their last seven games, Palace have had a difficult start to the 2024/25 season with just three points from eight games.

But they started the encounter at the City stadium ground with flying colors, Eddie Nketiah forcing a save from Matz Sels before Eberechi Eze hit the outside post with a superb left-footed shot from distance.

Forest soon got back on their feet and responded with chances of their own. Ryan Yates hit the post with a header before Elliot Anderson moved in and out of the penalty area, beating three defenders before his attempt was thwarted.

Eze was unlucky again after an hour when his powerful shot from 30 meters was deflected onto the crossbar by Sels.

And just five minutes later the hosts made a breakthrough when the in-form Chris Wood latched on to a loose ball with a fantastic first-time shot from outside the box that snaked past Dean Henderson.

Jeffrey Schlupp came closest to an equalizer with nine minutes left, but Forest's strong defense held on to secure their first home win of the season, moving them up to eighth in the Premier League table – although Nuno Espirito Santo was out of it on the sidelines was serving a three-game suspension.
