NYC's famous Rockefeller Center Christmas tree comes from MA

WEST STOCKBRIDGE, MA – The 2024 Rockefeller Center Christmas tree around which millions of people from around the world will gather in New York City this holiday season will come from West Stockbridge, Massachusetts.

The tree, which stands 74 feet tall and weighs 11 tons, will be cut down Nov. 7 and will make its grand arrival on Nov. 9, Rockefeller Center announced Monday on social media and online.

This year marks the first time the famous tree has come from the Bay State since 1959, and it's no secret why it was chosen: Its enormous height dwarfs the average spruce tree, which typically only grows to 40 to 40,000, according to the state The city of Ann Arbor will be 60 feet tall.

His arrival will be celebrated with a day of celebration that includes activities from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the South Plaza, as well as additional events at 30 Rock and Top of the Rock.

Finally, the big tree lighting event will take place on December 4th during the live broadcast of “Christmas at Rockefeller Center.” After that, the tree will be lit daily from 5 a.m. to midnight. The tree is lit for 24 hours on Christmas Eve and from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. on New Year's Eve

If you miss it over the holidays, don't worry: the tree will stand proud until mid-January!
