Patriots' Drake Maye posts on Instagram after injury exit vs. Jets

Most likely, the Patriots thought they were coming off a seventh straight loss when Drake Maye left Sunday's game in the second quarter at Gillette Stadium.

But a week after New England was called “soft” by its head coach, the players showed a lot of heart and picked up their first win since Week 1.

The Patriots rallied behind backup quarterback Jacoby Brissett, making his first appearance since Week 5, to secure a thrilling 25-22 victory over the rival New York Jets. The win marked the highest points scored by New England so far this season and was a significant boost to the organization's morale after Maye suffered an injury.

The rookie signal-caller remained suspended following his fall in the Week 8 contest and expressed his excitement over the win on social media.

“How about the boys!!!” Maye captioned his Instagram Story post with a photo of Rhamondre Stevenson after he scored the game-winning touchdown.

Jerod Mayo after the game revealed that Maye has entered the NFL's concussion protocol and must check the appropriate boxes before returning to the field. Therefore, it is unclear when the 22-year-old might be able to slot in behind center again.

The Patriots will next take the field on Sunday when they visit the 1-6 Tennessee Titans. If Maye is unable to suit up, Brissett will be competing in Nashville for the sixth consecutive time this season.
