Penn State students are calling for a boycott of the Fox Sports show at kickoff time

Penn State supporters are calling for an overhaul of the Big Ten's regular season schedule.

By most accounts, Saturday's highly anticipated clash between the No. 3-ranked Nittany Lions and No. 4-ranked Ohio State received the iconic white-out treatment during a night game at Beaver Stadium. But because the Fox Sports show Big start to lunch will air from Happy Valley this week, with the game starting at 12 p.m. ET instead of being in a prime-time slot under the lights.

Penn State fans are not happy.

“If one thing is clear, it is this: This game should be a night game,” wrote sophomore Ben Rosenbaum for Onward State, a blog run by Penn State students. “…Fox has enjoyed bringing out the fun of tailgating and the atmosphere that Beaver Stadium provides by testing us with several noon games already. And now, in the biggest game of the year, it's happening again. Unacceptable.”

“I ask you, Penn State students, to boycott the Big Noon Kickoff. Don't come over. Imagine Urban Meyer pumping up the 'crowd.'” Folks, let the crickets chirp.

Accordingly The athleteThe Penn State-Ohio State game was selected as the No. 5 pick by Fox Sports in its annual network draft for college football games with CBS and NBC. It was announced earlier this month as a lunchtime opener.

Saturday is expected to be a busy day on the Penn State campus, according to ESPN College game day should also take place in Happy Valley. It will be interesting to see whether College game daywhich begins at 9 a.m. ET, will draw a larger crowd of Nittany Lions fans than Big start to lunchwhich blows up an hour later.
