Penn State's Tyler Warren grabs the ball and catches a TD pass on the same play against USC

Tyler Warren grabbed the football and caught a TD pass against USC. In the same piece.

The Penn State tight end made a big TD catch in the third quarter of the No. 4 Nittany Lions' 33-30 win over the Trojans after moving to the end of the line to play center on a trick play.

Warren moved up out of the backfield to grab the ball as the entire offensive line shifted to the right. There is no rule that requires the player hitting the ball to be in the middle of the line of scrimmage, and Warren was considered a receiver. After the snap, he was sidelined when Penn State played a one-two pass, giving him a spectacular grab in traffic.

Warren was all over the field for the Nittany Lions. Literally. Just look at where he got up midway through the third quarter.

After his touchdown, Warren also helped set up Penn State's late equalizer. A 34-yard completion from Drew Allar to the USC 19-yard line got him deep into the game. Three plays later, Kaytron Allen tied the game at 20-20 after USC had built a 20-6 lead at halftime.

Warren finished the game with 17 catches for 244 yards. His number of catches tied the tight end record for most catches in a single game.
