PFL Super Fights Battle Of The Giants Results: Winners and Highlights

What a huge win for Francis Ngannou and what a huge win for the Professional Fighters League. Ngannou scored a first-round decision knockout win over Renan Ferreira to become the PFL's first Super Fights heavyweight champion.

Here's a look at the finish.

Here's a look at the immediate reaction following Ngannou's win. Boxer and social media influencer Jake Paul was happy for Ngannou and accepted X.

Paul followed up and demanded a fight that would never happen, but so what?

Ariel Helwani of Uncrowned added a reference to Roy Jones Jr. to pay homage to Ngannou.

MMA Mania's Alex Behunin acknowledged Ngannou's struggles and expressed his joy at the martial arts legend's performance.

Ngannou left the UFC as heavyweight champion. He took the bold step of signing with the PFL, which allowed him to take part in two boxing matches.

Ngannou lost both and there were doubts as to whether he could successfully return to MMA. With the dominant performance he proved that he is still probably the best heavyweight in the world.

This is huge for him and the PFL.

Cris Cyborg defeats Larissa Pacheco via unanimous decision (49-46×3)

The MMA legend captured a world title in his fifth organization. The fight was a good duel between two of the most powerful women in combat sports, but Cyborg's game was a bit more varied.

She set the pace with her takedowns and landed heavy punches in four of the five rounds.

Johnny Eblen defeats Fabian Edwards via unanimous decision (48-47×3)

Eblen dominated with his grappling for four rounds. In the fifth round he seemed to step on the gas and began to give in to Edwards' relentless body attack. Nevertheless, the Bellator champion was able to retain his title and remain undefeated.

Zafar Mohsen defeated Husein Kadimagomaev by unanimous decision 30:27

This fight was about as one-sided over 15 minutes as you can see in a fight that doesn't end in a stoppage. Mohsen looked like Hercules and fought like him on his way to an easy victory.

Paul Hughes defeats AJ McKie via split decision (29-28×2, 28-29)

Hughes has been one of the biggest free agents in mixed martial arts over the past two years. On Saturday he proved that he is the right one. He used excellent boxing, well-placed knees and solid climbing to earn a split decision victory over one of the best lightweights in the world.

One could make a case for McKie to win the second and third rounds, but Hughes landed the more telling punches and McKie didn't dominate the wrestling as much as he would have liked.

Hughes called out Bellator lightweight champion Usman Nurmagomedov during his post-fight press conference.

Overall, the map offered a lot of action. However, the Saudi audience was so silent for most of the event that it seemed as if they did not understand the seriousness of the event.

Hopefully these changes will continue as Saudi martial arts is here to stay.
