Phoebe Cates' husband Kevin Kline makes rare comments about marriage and quiet life at home in New York

Phoebe Cates has lived out of the public eye for years, but her husband, Kevin KlineShe is content with her quiet life in New York City.

The couple married in 1989 and have two children together: Greta And Owen Kline.

“If your marriage lasts longer than six months, you're already in the Guinness Book of World Records for having a Hollywood marriage,” Kevin, 77, said recently Business Insider on Disclaimer Premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.

They currently live together on Manhattan's Upper East Side, away from the gaze of Hollywood. “That’s why you won’t see Botox. These are my lips, what’s left of them,” he said playfully.

And the Oscar winner had nothing but kind things to say about his wife, who made her last film appearance as an actress in 2001 The anniversary party.

“Unlike me, she has her head on her shoulders. I’m usually on their shoulders too,” he told the outlet. “She’s a great wife, a great mother, a great person, and she keeps me honest.”

“Except in interviews,” Kevin joked.
