Travis Kelce's teammates are behind him.

The Kansas City Chiefs wide receivers wore t-shirts honoring the tight end during warmups before Sunday's game. Tracy Wolfson of CBS Sports reported that wide receiver Rashee Rice was given the t-shirts for the receivers to “honor their leader and a man who mentored them all.”

This happened before the team's game against the Los Angeles Chargers. Kansas City will hope to improve to 4-0 on the season.

The hot start succeeded even though Kelce was no longer as dynamic as he had been in his career. The 34-year-old has made eight catches for 69 yards in the first three games and has played less of a role on offense.

This came after he failed to reach 1,000 yards in a season in 2023 for the first time since 2015. He still had 984 yards and was a major contributor to the Super Bowl victory, but it appears he is showing signs of slowing down.

Rice has truly established himself as the Chiefs' No. 1 option, recording 24 catches for 288 yards and two touchdowns so far in 2024. Rookie Xavier Worthy added 81 yards and a touchdown in the passing game and also added 39 yards and a touchdown as a rusher, while JuJu Smith-Schuster scored a touchdown.

Kelce will certainly improve his game, but his days as the face of the receiving game may soon be coming to an end. Still, Rice and the recipients are grateful for the role he played and want him to know he is supported.
