Hurricane Helene devastated numerous buildings in the Augusta area. Were there polling stations?

Travis Doss, executive director of the Augusta-Richmond County Board of Elections, said voters traditionally assigned to the Building Worship Center at 2240 Bayvale Road will now go to the Boys & Girls Club of Augusta at 221 Wheeless Road.

Another change to this year's election is the relocation of voting at Belle Terrace Presbyterian Church to the Henry Brigham Community Center, but this is not due to the storm. The board voted on this at the beginning of September and (unlike the Building Worship Center) it is a permanent change.

The Columbia County Board of Elections also reported that Helene damaged a polling place. Director Nancy Gay said those who are normally at the Savannah Rapids Pavilion will go to Stevens Creek Church at 600 Stevens Creek Road. Voters must pay attention to the signage on site.

The county Board of Elections has not provided a response regarding any changes in Aiken County.

Election day is Tuesday. If you don't know where your polling place is, visit the GA My Voter page.
