Portland Trail Blazers vs. Ratiopharm Ulm: Preseason preview, time, radio, TV

The Portland Trail Blazers play their first preseason home game on Wednesday night against Ratiopharm Ulm, a professional basketball team based in Germany.

Blazers coach Chauncey Billups returns to the bench after missing Sunday's win at Sacramento. Billups was in Springfield, Massachusetts, where he was inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.

The ceremony began as the Blazers were in the midst of defeating the Kings 105-85.

Billups later watched video of the game.

“I thought it was great,” Billups said after practice Tuesday. “I thought we worked our asses off. Defensively I think we were really good. We really put them under pressure. I thought it had an impact on her.”

Typically, against an international team like Ratiopharm Ulm, the Blazers have reduced the number of minutes played by their regular players.

That shouldn't be the case on Wednesday.

“I haven’t really figured it out yet,” Billups said. “I’ll probably play against anyone. We don't have that many options. Games are always different than training. To be able to get those representatives.”

The team, Billups continued, is still working on developing the chemistry that best develops during games.

Billups said guard Anfernee Simons (ankle soreness) could return after missing the first two games. He trained on Tuesday. But guard Matisse Thybulle (knee soreness) would remain out, as would guard Shaedon Sharpe (left posterior labrum tear) and center Robert Williams III (hamstring injury).
