Prediction and betting tips for Draper vs De Minaur: Paris Masters

Prediction and betting tips for Draper vs De Minaur: Paris Masters

Jack Draper continued his excellent form with another win at the Paris Masters yesterday and now faces Alex de Minaur again. The Brit has a chance to win an eighth game in a row, but De Minaur won't give up easily.

He's fighting for a place at the ATP Finals, so the motivation will be huge. Read on for our predictions and betting tips for Draper vs De Minaur.

Player form: Draper with a seven-game winning streak

Draper traveled to Paris last week after his first ATP 500 title in Vienna and is on a seven-match winning streak with two wins so far this week.

His win over Fritz yesterday was particularly impressive because the American is a really good player. However, he lost a set, so he might not play as cleanly as he did last week.

Still, there are a few things that make him a huge favorite in this game, no matter the odds. This is mainly because De Minaur wasn't as sharp as he can be. He hasn't been fully healthy for a while, but he's found ways to win games (he's beaten Mariano Navone and Miomir Kecmanovic so far this week), which is still impressive.

As the bookmakers see it: Draper ahead

Draper is the favorite here and for good reason. He is currently the better indoor player as De Minaur may not be completely healthy. The Australian is a difficult matchup for most players, but the last time they played at the US Open it was an easy time for Draper.

He is still in good form while de Minaur took a step back as conditions were also favorable for Draper. For this reason he is the favorite, with Betfred putting this game at 3/5 for Draper and 6/5 for a De Minaur upset.

Current head-to-head: De Minaur leads 3-1

Similar to Fritz yesterday, De Minaur is leading the duel 3-1 so far. That's largely because Draper hasn't been as good as he used to be lately. This Draper is a much better player and he showed it in New York, where he won comfortably 6-3, 7-5, 6-2.

Anything else catch your eye?

The main reason Draper has been so good lately is his serve. He served at a really high speed and converted the points behind very efficiently. Just a few days ago he had a win rate of 96% against Jiri Lehecka.

In general, however, his serve has cooled down a bit compared to Vienna. However, it still delivers an extremely impressive performance. He was great against Fritz, but the American played a really good game, which made it seem less impressive.

De Minaur won't play as well as Fritz because he hasn't been at his best recently since suffering a hip injury at Wimbledon. He's won games, but most of those wins aren't that impressive. Here in Paris he beat a clay court specialist and Kecmanovic, who had been sidelined for a while.

The thing that will probably decide the match is the serve. It was a big weapon for Draper in their last meeting and earned him a lot of free and easy points.

The Australian will have to earn most of his points and in the end we just think Draper will have more success doing that. De Minaur is fighting for Turin so there is extra motivation for him, but we don't think it will be enough.

Draper vs De Minaur betting tips and predictions

Our prediction is that Draper will win this game. The odds aren't good, but we think he's been just too good lately. The conditions should also be very favorable for him, so take him to win.

  • Draper wins the match at 3/5

This game will be played on Thursday, October 31, 2024 in Vienna.
