Preview: Ducks Meet Devils tonight in New Jersey

The Ducks are 3-0-1 when scoring at least two goals this season and 0-3-0 when scoring just one.

“It's hard for us to score goals and it's a difficult balance because you don't want to give up on defense to push the offense forward,” Cronin said. “We’ll find out here.”

Anaheim now travels across the Hudson to face a Devils team that is currently battling with the Rangers for the top spot in the Metropolitan Division. New Jersey opened the year with a 4-0-1 record, including wins in both legs of the NHL Global Series trip to Prague, but is just 1-3-2 since an overtime loss to the Islanders on Friday.

“We followed the game from the beginning and that's a challenge, but the guys stuck with it until the end,” head coach Sheldon Keefe told NHL.com's Mike Morreale. “I thought we got better as the game went on and kind of got back used to the way this game was played. Listen, the league is tough. Tonight was our ninth game in the last 16 days. It’s a tough schedule.”

“We looked like a team that hadn’t trained much; we have had two training sessions in the last 16 days. All in all, you can see our team fighting in the third game in four nights in a row and be confident that we can do it.” The point is, this is all really encouraging.
