Preview: Hornets complete preseason at Pacers

The Charlotte Hornets conclude their five preseason games with a road game against the Indiana Pacers. They have compiled an entertaining 2-2 record, with their only losses coming narrowly against the New York Knicks. More importantly, 111 points were scored in three of the four games.

If the previous season Pacers are anything like last year's Pacers, the winning team will exceed that number tonight. That seems to be the case. At least 236 points have been scored in all three of the Pacers' preseason games to this point. There will be a lot of points tonight unless the starters don't get a chance.

While I expect most of the starters to play a bit, I suspect their minutes won't extend into the second half. We'll probably see a lot of 10-15 minute demonstrations, with the testers and newbies playing over 30 minutes. The Pacers rested many of their key players in their last preseason game, so I expect them to give their key players a little energy in this game just to keep them fit.

Then the regular season continues, which begins for the Hornets next Wednesday.
