Spain were far from their best against Denmark on Saturday evening and it seemed as if La Roja would have to settle for a goalless draw, but Martin Zubimendi scored the only goal of the game in the 79th minute.

This moved the Euro 2024 winners to the top of the table ahead of Denmark with seven points from the first three games and is now aiming for a 10-point lead ahead of the final two games of the group stage next month against Denmark and Switzerland.

Spain are the reigning Nations League champions after triumphing in the 2022-23 competition and beating Croatia in the final to lift the trophy for the first time.

La Roja are unbeaten since a 1-0 defeat to Colombia in March but were held to a goalless draw by Serbia in the second leg last month and the visitors will go into this clash on a high note.

Spain is now also missing some important players due to injuries, including Lamine Yamalalthough the Barcelona prodigy had a small problem in the last game against Denmark.

Serbia failed to get out of the Euro 2024 group stage, picking up just two points from their three games, but they showed some positive signs during the 2024-25 Nations League season.

Dragan StojkovicThe s team opened their Group 4 clash with a goalless draw against Spain, but were unable to build on that result and suffered a 2-0 defeat to Denmark in their second game in September.

On Saturday, however, the Eagles recovered impressively and beat Switzerland 2-0 Aleksandar Mitrovic Adding to an own goal by Nico Elvedi to secure all three points.

Serbia is in third place in its group, two points behind second-placed Denmark and three ahead of leaders Spain. So a win on Tuesday night would put them in an interesting position ahead of the final two group games in November.

Stojkovic's side have lost just one of their last five games in all competitions, but their first meeting with Spain in May 2012 ended in a 2-0 defeat Adrian Lopez And Santi Cazorla on the score sheet.

Alex Baena would be the favorite for Yamal, but otherwise it could be the same team that took the field against Denmark, with Alvaro Moratawho has scored 36 goals for his country is at the top.

As for Serbia, head coach Stojkovic could opt to select the same eleven that started the impressive win over Switzerland, with Mitrovic continuing in the final third of the field.

We say: Spain – Serbia 2:1

It could be a very difficult game for Spain as Serbia can be a tough nut to crack and the hosts will be missing some key players. It wouldn't be a surprise to see a draw here, but we just feel that De la Fuente's side will be able to fight their way to a whopping three points.
