Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Gardner Minshew left the game during the third quarter of Sunday's Week 9 NFL game against the Cincinnati Bengals at Paycor Stadium.

Minshew appeared to be injured in the first half but remained in the game. He limped at times and completed 10 of 17 attempts for 124 yards before leaving.

Minshew was replaced by former Cincinnati Bearcats star quarterback Desmond Ridder, whom the Raiders signed from the Arizona Cardinals' practice squad last month.

Ridder, a 2022 third-round draft pick who helped the Bearcats to their first-ever College Football Playoff appearance in his fourth and final season as UC quarterback, was released by the Cardinals in August but then signed to their practice squad . Ridder was traded to Arizona by the Atlanta Falcons in March.

Ridder started Sunday after appearing in 19 regular-season games with 17 starts in two NFL seasons, completing 64 percent of his passes with 14 touchdowns and 12 interceptions, as well as five rushing touchdowns. Former Falcons head coach Arthur Smith benched Ridder after naming him the Falcons' starter prior to the 2023 season.

Ridder was a member of the Falcons when they lost at Cincinnati in 2022, but he did not play in that game.

Minshew is in his sixth NFL season, initially with the Raiders. He played two seasons for the Jacksonville Jaguars, two for the Philadelphia Eagles and one for the Indianapolis Colts.
