Rams' WR had a strange view of the game winner after the sack

The Los Angeles Rams (4:4) earned a decisive overtime victory against their NFC West rival Seattle Seahawks (4:5) on Sunday afternoon and did so for long stretches of the game without their young star receiver Puka Nacua, who was in the The game was disqualified at the end of the first half.

Nacua was ejected and ejected from the contest after he came into contact with a Seahawks defensive back after the game and appeared to throw a punch toward the defender's facemask. He had to watch the rest of the competition from the locker room.

“It will be a great learning opportunity for Puka,” head coach Sean McVay said after the game. “He’s emotional, that’s one of the things we love about him, but he’ll be able to learn from that.”

The Rams would celebrate a comeback win on the road in Seattle, capped by a game-winning touchdown catch from veteran receiver Demarcus Robinson, winning the ballgame 26-20 in overtime.

After the game, Nacua was asked about his experience watching the game on a television screen rather than on the sidelines. In classic Puka fashion, he was optimistic and didn't let the disqualification deter him from his feeling of victory. He had a smile on his face as he talked about his experiences.

“They started the Seattle broadcast here with the Fox NFL game, so I feel like I'm hearing the Kam Kinchens' choice, the announcer saying 'No!' screams. and I'm screaming 'Yes!', so it was interesting in that respect,” Nacua said of watching the game from the locker room. “Yeah, (I was) just walking up and down and then I saw the guys making plays. TJ (WR Tyler Johnson) came with the ball across the middle and snapped it over there Woolen (CB Riq Woolen) so that ball made me cry and then we saw Kyren (RB Kyren Williams) in that overtime was able to carry on and we were able to change the situation, was there a police officer and so are we. I chatted a little bit, but I may have overreacted and caught him a little off guard, but man, such a one-handed catch in the extra time knocked me out of my seat.

This was the first time Nacua had been ejected at any level of football. The emotions of an NFL game can affect any player at any time. On Sunday, it was Nacua who became undisciplined, and much like McVay mentioned in his press conference, the young star will learn from it.
