Return for John Mulaney Musical Parody

Pete Davidson returned to “Saturday Night Live” on November 2 to appear in a hilarious sketch with his good friend and host John Mulaney.

The sketch focused on a person asking to buy milk from the Duane Reade Port Authority cashier, which locals would consider something to avoid. The segment then broke out into a full-cast celebration, parodying several show tunes and themes surrounding New York City.

The musical numbers began with a “Lion King” parody about milk by Kenan Thompson and Ego Nwodim; the shampoo is included in a “Sound of Music” parody by Marcello Hernandez and Mulaney; Bowen Yang as a perverted Greyhound bus driver to the tune of “Master of the House” from “Les Miserables”; “All the Twinks Come to the Timothée Chalamet Lookalike Contest,” hosted by Chloe Fineman’s rendition of the actor singing a version of “Welcome” from “Cabaret”; The possible illegal ties to Türkiye of Mayor Eric Adams, played by Devon Walker to the tune of “Prince Ali” from “Aladdin”; Andy Samberg portrays the dead bear that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. admitted to dumping in Central Park to the tune of the “Hamilton” anthem “Alexander Hamilton”; and a full-cast showstopper parodying “We Go Together” from “Grease.”

Davidson and Mulaney received applause mid-skit when they called each other by their real names, causing Davidson to grin.

Davidson was a cast member on “Saturday Night Live” from 2014 to 2022, where he was known for his standup segments during “Weekend Update,” which often discussed his personal life as well as recurring characters such as Chad. He also hosted the show in 2023.

Mulaney is known for similar Tri-State music parodies when he hosts, such as “Airport Sushi,” “Bodega Bathroom,” “Diner Lobster” and “Subway Churro.”
