Safety Kam Kinchens grabs two clutch interceptions, including a 103-yard pick-six, in the Rams' overtime win at Seattle

“Once I caught it, I didn’t see anyone in front of me. It was time to run. I was just out of it and just went to run it,” Kinchens said. “…We emphasized in the meeting on Friday about (not) dropping the ball before you get to the end zone, so I wasn't sure where I was in the end zone…So I dropped the ball. “ Ball, I made sure to run over to him and pick him up before I did anything else.

He jokingly said he wasn't afraid of getting hit from behind because Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf wasn't on the field.

Kinchens, a third-round rookie out of Miami, hasn't been an integral part of the Rams defense this season. Before Sunday's game against the Seahawks, he had only played more than 50% of the snaps and his role had declined over the last two weeks. He wasn't an all-down player in Seattle, but he made every snap count and finished the game with two interceptions, both in the red zone, and two tackles for the win.

After cornerback Josh Wallace left the game due to injury in the second quarter, Kinchens was used more often. Since safety Kam Curl was somewhat injured, he also had more opportunities. But even when Wallace returned late in the fourth, the Rams still rolled Kinchens to capitalize on his momentum.

Two drives after the pick-six, Seattle was back inside the 20-yard line after a blocked punt. On second-and-goal from the 4-yard line, Smith rolled to his right and missed the shot. The intended target, tight end AJ Barner, was caught by defensive tackle Braden Fiske as he attempted to clear the formation behind the line of scrimmage. Once again, Kinchens was there to capitalize.

He lunged forward for his second interception of the game and secured it for another crucial turnover.
