Saints WR Chris Olave was carted off the field with a serious injury

New Orleans Saints star wide receiver Chris Olave is carted off the field after making a big throw on a play. Olave remained on the ground and the cart was immediately called. In what appeared to be a serious situation, the players knelt around the receiver.

The announcers covering the Saints game indicated that Olave was moving his hands and arms while being lifted onto the cart. The blow he suffered does not appear to have caused any serious damage to his spinal cord, which is big news.

Another video shows the hit that Olave took. He collided with two Panthers defenders and was immediately on the ground without moving.

Olave has already dealt with a concussion this season and another would add to the growing number of concussions he has suffered. This is a very serious situation and the hope is that the Saints receiver did not suffer any serious damage.

The good news is that Olave was able to move his extremities. As he is sent off the pitch, he is likely to miss the remainder of the game.

The loss of Olave will have a major impact on the Saints' offense, which is already under Rashid Shaheed. Shaheed elected to undergo a meniscus repair, ending his 2024 season early.

Olave was also ruled out of Week 7 due to the concussion he sustained in Week 6. If the blow he suffered on Sunday is ruled a concussion, it would be his second of the 2024 season, along with the second he suffered in a matter of three weeks.

The Saints will do their due diligence to determine if and when Olave can return if it is revealed he has suffered a concussion. The fact that he had to be carted off the field could mean several things.

NFL insider Adam Schefter revealed that Olave suffered a concussion and will not be able to play.

Best case scenario, Olave suffers a shot in the head but can return this season. In the worst case scenario, the injury would turn out to be far more serious than just a concussion.
