Sauce Gardner shares strange post following Davante Adams trade request

Sauce Gardner lets cryptic images speak for themselves after Davante Adams makes bombshell trade request from Raiders.

Shortly after news broke on Tuesday that the six-time Pro Bowler receiver had told the Raiders he would rather be dealt, the Jets' 24-year-old cornerback responded to X with a strange post.

The photo, which Gardner shared with his 285,000 followers, featured a tattoo of a small child raising a finger to his lips, prompting NFL fans to play internet sleuths about the image's meaning.

“Does this mean you secretly have something in the works?” one X user asked.

Another wrote: “I won't believe Adams on the Jets until it happens.”

Adams' name has long been associated with the Jets, as the receiver is friends with quarterback Aaron Rodgers, from whom he caught passes during their time together in Green Bay.

The 31-year-old receiver was traded to the Raiders after the 2021 season and signed a five-year, $140 million contract. The move reunited Adams with his former Fresno State quarterback, Derek Carr.

However, the reunion was bittersweet as the Raiders released Carr in February 2022 after nine seasons with the organization.

Although Adams insisted back in April that he wanted to be in Las Vegas, trade rumors and allegations of broken relationships have persisted in recent weeks.

Just a few days ago, Raiders coach Antonio Pierce was at the center of social media drama after he apparently “liked” an Instagram post about Adams' future with the team.

“I don't know exactly what it was about. Obviously… social media is a beast, so there are a lot of people out there who saw it and were wondering what was going on and are reaching out. So yeah, I haven't spoken to him,” Adams said on Tuesday's episode of Kay Adams' “Up & Adams” show.

Since he told the Raiders about his desire to move, the Jets and Saints – currently quarterbacked by Carr – have been considered Adams' preferred destinations.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Wednesday that the Chiefs are an unlikely candidate for Adams, although Rashee Rice will be out for the foreseeable future with a knee injury suffered in Sunday's win over the Chargers.

The Raiders are seeking a second-rounder as part of a package for Adams' services.

The Jets, coming off a dismal 10-9 loss to the Broncos, have Allen Lazard, Mike Williams and Garrett Wilson among the top wideouts on their depth chart
