SEC Football Rankings, Week 7

SEC Football Rankings, Week 7

Greetings, BBN!

Run for your life! Crouch and take cover! Anarchy is just around the corner! The SEC has been turned upside down, pigs are flying, and Vanderbilt has thrown their goalposts downstream. When you see the Vanderbilt Commodores standing over Alabama in a football game, you know it's time to escape to the mountains.

This past Saturday marked the first time in conference history that two top-five AP SEC teams lost to unranked opponents. Three The top 10 teams lost overall as Missouri also fell on the road to Texas A&M.

But can you believe it – Vanderbilt 40, Alabama 35! Soccer fans across America will remember where they were when this game took place for decades!

Here's the full breakdown of the rankings for Week 7. Everything has fallen into chaos:

SEC Rankings Week 7

Notes:

  • After Saturday's revolution, Texas is now the only undefeated team in the South.
  • Vanderbilt's win over Alabama was not only their first win over a #1 team, but also their first win ever every top 5 team! Previously it was 0-60.
  • Arkansas' season and coach Pittman's job might have been saved Saturday. As the Hogs fans stormed the field after toppling #4 Tennessee, the Razorbacks improved to 4-2 and are almost certain to score with their remaining schedule, and they undoubtedly have their sights set on more than just 6-6.
  • Ole Miss returned to their dominant ways last weekend against South Carolina. In the five games this year in which they have not played Kentucky, the Rebels have allowed a total of one touchdown (Georgia Southern, Week 4, 2nd quarter).

  • Florida might have won against the Big 12's UCF this week, but they are extremely vulnerable. One more missed chance in a winnable game should be enough to send them down to 5-7. In two weeks, Kentucky can come and do just that.
  • At one point, Texas A&M led 34-0 against Missouri. Remember, their only loss was the non-con against Notre Dame. They quietly sneak their way into the SEC champions. The Aggies also have the extreme luxury of not having Georgia or Alabama on their schedule. If they continue as they are, the season finale against Texas could be repeated a week later!
