What is the weather like on Monday in Oklahoma?

Another large storm area appeared overnight. Some of these storms are severe and produce heavy rainfall.

We have seen a number of storms with multiple points of spread. Although no tornado warnings have been issued yet, these storms could produce brief tornadoes due to low-level rotation.

Our storm trackers are reporting potential 60-65 mph wind gusts and quarter-sized hail, particularly in southeastern counties.

Timeline and severe weather risks

This is what awaits you throughout the day:

Morning: The Oklahoma City area is already experiencing heavy rain and thunderstorms, with severe lightning reported. The first wave of storms is expected to peak around 6 a.m. in downtown Oklahoma City.

Midday: A second wave of storms is expected around 11 a.m. Here we may see an increase in severe weather potential, including an increased risk of tornadoes. The storms will move eastward during the afternoon and are expected to dissipate between 1 and 3 p.m

While the drought grabbed headlines, flooding in the areas with the highest totals was a concern.

Highs on Monday will be in the 70s with some wind.
